Ordered the salmon sashimi bowl and the spicy tuna roll Phone order ahead recommended, which we did. Food quality is amazing! Do not let the exterior nor restaurant fool you, food taste amazing! Rice is the key feature in a japanese restaurant, and the rice here is great! Fish is also fresh. Will definitely come back to eat here again
Got The spicy tuna bowl large and spicy tuna roll. So fresh and reasonably priced! The owner is an angel and I'm sure works very hard. He deserves more business tbh. So yummy!
i got the large spicy tuna salmon bowl and it was so fresh for a solid price of $13.50. the presentation was beautiful as well. my cousin and i called on a saturday around lunch time and it was about an hour wait, so i do suggest calling ahead to place your order. the restaurant is ran by one man so it will take some time, but it's so worth it! there is no seating besides a bench to wait, so you'll have to take it to-go. as for parking, it might be a challenge since it's on a busy street but we luckily found one immediately
A hole in the wall on Garfield. You have to call ahead at least an hour before as it is one man show. There is credit card is $1.15 charge so suggest paying in cash. If you get there early, suggest waiting in the car since there's little seating inside, just a grab and go. The sashimi was fresh and not fishy for the price of $13.50 is pretty good - I don't think you can find that low of a price for fish in SGV. Highly recommend supporting the owner, he was nice and was working on orders to ensure meeting pick up times.
I had to bring something for a work potluck. Luckily I remembered Sushi on Garfield. I have driven by many times. There is a California Roll special, eight pieces for $4.99 I bought five orders and was all set . The sushi tasted pretty good and the service was good!
Good sushi spot! It used to be the cheap sushi spot but prices have gone up. It seems like it's just run by one man who takes orders and prepares all of them so you still have to order pretty far in advance and pick up at a later time. I like that the rolls are big, but otherwise everything tastes pretty standard.
We love Sushi on Garfield! We live within a 7 min driving distance, and so it works for us to call first thing in the morning to schedule a lunch order pick up. We usually get the salmon bowl and an order of nigiri and California rolls. It's not the best sushi we've ever had, but for the price and local distance, you can't go wrong with it. It's a small, no frills mom and pop type of shop, so make sure you know what you're getting into. If you pay with cash, you save some money. And note that their hours have changed and they aren't open for dinner hours anymore (unless you eat dinner before 5pm).
